Opens '18 Campaign at Senoia; Spring Nationals Doubleheader Next
4, 2018) Brandon Kinzer and the Kinzer Motorsports
team embarked on the start of their 2018 racing season on March
30-31 in a Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Series doubleheader
at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia. On Friday night in the $3,000
to win weekend opener, Brandon knocked down the fifth fastest time
in Group B during qualifying prior to running fourth in his consolation
race. After starting the 40-lapper from the outside of the ninth
row, Brandon was involved in an early tangle and soldiered on to
finish nineteenth in the final rundown at the super-slick oval.
At Senoia on Saturday evening, a strong field of competitors
signed into the pit area to vie for the $10,000 winner's check.
Brandon clicked off the fifteenth quickest lap in Group B during
time trials before finishing eighth in his heat race and sixth in
his B-Main. After receiving a provisional to gain access into the
60-lap grand finale, BK moved up ten spots to fifteenth in the running
order prior to slipping back a few positions late in the distance
to settle for an eighteenth place showing in a race that was won
by teammate Dale McDowell. Full results from the Senoia Raceway
double-dip can be viewed online at www.southernnationalsseries.com.
Weather pending, the #18 team will return to Spring
Nationals Series action on April 6-7 in the Volunteer State of Tennessee.
Up first will be a trip to Crossville Speedway in Crossville, Tennessee
on Friday evening for a $4,000 to win shootout. The doubleheader
will then wrap up on Saturday night at the bad-fast Tazewell Speedway
in Tazewell, Tennessee with a huge $10,000 to win program. Brandon
plans to follow the entire ten-race Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals
mini-series this year to chase the Championship. Additional information
