Brandon Kinzer Returns to Modified Competition in Spring Thaw

The ONUM tour presided over the open wheel action, which was on the undercard for the XR Super Series. On Saturday evening in the $2,000 to win opener, Brandon Kinzer placed fourth in his heat race and later climbed to as high as third in the running order in the 25-lap feature. A skirmish late in the race knocked him back a few spots, but BK was still able to cross underneath the checkers in the fifth position behind only victor Blake Brown, Colton Proffit, Joe Duvall, and Adam Ogle.

At "The Gap" on Sunday, another $2,000 top prize was up for grabs in the weekend finale. Brandon once again finished fourth in his stacked heat race and later started the 25-lapper from the inside of the fourth row. The Kentucky-turned-Florida native wound up finishing right where he took the green flag... in the seventh spot. Kinzer Motorsports Starts 2024 Season in DIRTcar Nationals

The 'DIRTcar Nationals' for the Open Wheel Modifieds wrapped up in a big way tonight at Volusia Speedway Park, as a $5,000 winner's check was up for grabs in the Gator Championship. Brandon Kinzer secured a victory in his Lance Chance Showdown and later rolled off from the inside of the tenth row in the 30-lap headliner. Brandon then vaulted up near the top ten early in the contest before unfortunately running out of tear-offs on lap twelve. (February 9, 2024) The penultimate event of the 53rd Annual 'DIRTcar Nationals' took center stage tonight for the Open Wheel Modifieds at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. Brandon Kinzer posted the twenty-fifth quickest lap in Group A during the qualifying session and later rolled off from the inside of the fifth row in one of the 20-lap feature events. With a $1,000 paycheck on the line, BK blasted past four competitors during the contest to claim a strong fifth place effort behind only race winner Michael Leach, Tim Ward, Curt Spalding, and Charlie Sandercock!

(February 8, 2024) A different format greeted the cars and stars of the Open Wheel Modified division tonight at Volusia Speedway Park. The six features were lined up according to points from the week and Brandon Kinzer was slotted in the event that featured drivers 37-54 in total points. BK started the 20-lap race from the outside of the seventh row and wound up in the thirteenth finishing position.

(February 7, 2024) The third leg of the 53rd Annual 'DIRTcar Nationals' was held earlier tonight at Volusia Speedway Park and a $1,000 winner's check was on the line in each of the six Open Wheel Modified main events. Brandon Kinzer stopped the clock fourteenth fastest during qualifying, which lined him up starting the 20-lap main event from the outside of the seventh row. BK then blasted past six competitors during the contest to earn a solid eighth place performance.

(February 6, 2024) Night two of the annual 'DIRTcar Nationals' took place earlier this evening at Volusia Speedway Park. Brandon Kinzer laid down the tenth quickest time in his group during qualifying prior to starting his 20-lap main event from the outside of the fifth row. With a $700 top prize up for grabs, Brandon wound up finishing right where he started... in the tenth spot.

(February 5, 2024) Brandon Kinzer and his #18 team kicked off their version of the 2024 racing season earlier tonight in the 'DIRTcar Nationals' opener for the Open Wheel Modifieds at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. A whopping 113 cars showed up and showed out with each of the six feature winners securing a $600 payday. Brandon posted the seventh quickest lap in his group during the time trial session and later started the 20-lap main event from the inside of the fourth row. The Kentucky-turned-Florida ace was then able to pick up a spot during the course of the A-Main to finish in the sixth position behind only victor Tyler Nicely, Lucas Lee, Cole Czarneski, Dustin Sorensen, and Charlie Mefford.

Condolences to the Family of Art Lentini, Jr. of Art's Radiator

The Kinzer Motorsports team would like to offer their deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family of Art Lentini, Jr., who passed away earlier today December 21, 2023. Art, who owned Art's Radiator & Welding Shop in Flemington, New Jersey, was a longtime supporter of the #18 team and more importantly was a great friend for over 25 years. Kinzer Caps Off 2023 Season with Seventh Place Effort in Leftover

Early Heat Race Wreck Knocks BK Out of World Short Track Championship

The Kinzer Motorsports team was in the greater Charlotte, North Carolina area from October 26-28 for the annual running of the 'World Short Track Championship.' On Thursday night, Brandon Kinzer steered his #18 Open Wheel Modified around The Dirt Track at Charlotte eleventh fastest in Group A during the DIRTcar qualifying session. Unfortunately, his weekend came to a close on Friday evening when he was caught up in an opening lap tangle in his heat race. Condolences to the Smith Family on the Loss of the Great Freddy Smith

Brandon Kinzer, along with the entire Kinzer Motorsports family, send their heartfelt condolences to the Smith family on the recent loss of Freddy Smith. Freddy, who was sponsored by Kinzer Drilling Company for several years, was one of the all-time greats in sport of Dirt Late Model racing and will be sorely missed. Brandon enjoyed and will cherish those times running up and down the road with Freddy and his wife Naomi to events across the country. Kinzer Motorsports crew member Jimmy Cabral also served as Freddy's crew chief for many years, so the loss hits hard to all of us in the #18 shop.

Freddy will forever be remembered as a legend of the sport and for the major impact that he had on the sport of Dirt Late Model racing. The Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer had 785 career wins. Freddy won the 1996 Hav-A-Tampa championship. He was a Dirt Track World Champion five times in the years of 1983, 1985, 1991, 1993, and 1998. Freddy also captured the inaugural Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway in 1994 and then again in 2000. Freddy also captured the inaugural Topless 100 at Batesville Motor Speedway in 1993. Freddy was also a two-time winner of the Show-Me 100 among many other special event triumphs. #FreddyForever

Kinzer Clinches Second Straight Cumberland Plateau Series Championship!

The 2023 edition of the Cumberland Plateau Open Wheel Racing Series schedule came to a close on Friday night, September 22 at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tennessee. Brandon Kinzer knocked down the second quickest lap overall during Open Wheel Modified qualifying to lock himself into the outside of the front row for the start of the 25-lap feature event. With a $1,500 payday up for grabs in the headliner, BK ran in the second position and ultimately claimed a strong runner-up performance in the caution-free affair behind only victor Chris Wilson.

With the effort, Brandon officially clinched his second straight Cumberland Plateau Open Wheel Racing Series Championship, which was worth an extra $3,500 to the Kinzer Motorsports team. In 2023 with the tour, Brandon was able to rack up two feature wins, nine Top Fives, and eleven Top Tens in the eleven series contests that escaped the wrath of Mother Nature. Kinzer Motorsports Nabs Top Ten Finish in Sandy Adams Memorial

The Kinzer Motorsports team made their way to Rockcastle Speedway in Mount Vernon, Kentucky on Saturday night, September 9 for the 'Sandy Adams Memorial.' The Cumberland Plateau Open Wheel Racing Series presided over the single-day throwdown in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and a $5,000 winner's check was up for grabs. Brandon Kinzer timed in fourth quickest in his group during the qualifying session prior to running second in his heat race.

After starting the A-Main from the outside of the fourth row, Brandon moved up a spot or two in the running order before leaving the preferred racing groove to try and vault up even higher. Unfortunately, the bold move did not pay off and BK was dropped to ninth in the final finishing order. With the top ten effort in the 'Sandy Adams Memorial,' the Kentucky-turned-Florida native still sits atop of the series point standings. Brandon Kinzer entered one lone Open Wheel Modified event over the busy Labor Day holiday weekend, as he tackled the annual ‘Baltes Classic’ at the famed Eldora Speedway. The 1/2-mile, high-banked speedplant shelled out a $1,000 winner’s check for the open wheel warriors on Sunday, September 3.

Brandon won his heat race at the Rossburg, Ohio facility and later started the 20-lap main event from the outside of the fourth row. Kinzer's First Needmore Speedway Visit a Very Short One...

The Kinzer Motorsports team made their first-ever visit to Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, Georgia on July 21-22 for pair of Modified Mafia events. Brandon Kinzer laid down the tenth quickest time overall during the qualifying session on Friday night, but was unfortunately ran over and hit hard on the opening lap of his heat race. The Kentucky-turned-Florida native was forced to scratch from the $2,000 to win main event due to the heavy damage inflicted on his #18 machine. Saturday's program, which was slated to shell out a $3,000 payday, was unfortunately rained out early in the day. Brandon Kinzer Takes Cumberland Plateau Series Point Lead!

Brandon Kinzer and the Kinzer Motorsports team followed the Cumberland Plateau Open Wheel Racing Series to both Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, North Carolina and Mountain View Raceway in Spring City, Tennessee over the June 9-10 weekend. On Friday night in a $2,000 to win battle at the "Tiger Pit," Brandon timed in second fastest overall during qualifying before running second in the A-Main behind only race winner Clayton Miller. At Mountain View on Saturday evening with a $1,500 paycheck up for grabs, Brandon stopped the clock third quickest during time trials and later finished the 25-lapper on the podium in third behind only victor Clayton Miller and runner-up Chris Wilson.

With the pair of top three efforts over the weekend, BK currently finds himself on top of the heated Cumberland Plateau Open Wheel Racing Series point standings. He is 25 markers ahead of his closest competition, as Brandon vies for his second straight series Championship. Brandon Kinzer Fourth at Smoky Mountain; Sees Rain at Wartburg

The Kinzer Motorsports team had their focus set on a pair of Cumberland Plateau Open Wheel Racing Series contests on May 27-28 in the Volunteer State of Tennessee. Things kicked off with a $1,500 to win showdown on Saturday evening at the reconfigured Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee. Brandon Kinzer knocked down the second quickest lap time during qualifying to earn the outside pole position for the A-Main. A wrong tire selection for the feature caused BK to unfortunately slip back to fourth, which is where he finished behind only race winner Chris Wilson, Jacob Hall, and Bryan Barber.

Sunday's contest at Wartburg Speedway in Wartburg, Tennessee was then unfortunately rained-out. No immediate make-up date was announced for the program, which was slated to shell out a $2,000 payday. Brandon is now tied for second in the latest series point standings following the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Kinzer Sweeps Cumberland Plateau Program at I-75 Raceway!

Brandon Kinzer and the Kinzer Motorsports team celebrated in victory lane for the first time in 2023 on Friday night, May 19 at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tennessee! Brandon laid down the quickest lap of the 23 Cumberland Plateau Open Wheel Racing Series entrants during qualifying to earn Fast Time honors and later started the 20-lap feature event from the pole position. BK then grabbed the point at the drop of the green flag and proceeded to wire the field to collect the $1,500 first place prize money over a top five that included runner-up Chris Wilson, Bryan Barber, Joey Cotterman, and Adam Ogle!

On Saturday evening, May 20, the Cumberland Plateau tour was scheduled to take the #18 team to Crossville Speedway in Crossville, Tennessee for a similar program. Instead, Mother Nature had other ideas and the $1,500 to win show was wiped out due to rain showers.
